Design Group Supervisor/Manager

Guthrie Oklahoma | Reports to: Director of Engineering

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years mechanical/structural design experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/technology.

Experience or understanding of:
o 3D modeling
o Mechanical design
o Hydraulic and electrical controls
o Metal fabrication

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead, guide, and direct the day-to-day activity of all design work. Develop, maintain, and utilize tools and procedures to ensure timely and accurate design and shop order release. Continuously measure, report, and communicate the department’s BOM, shop order, and drawing accuracy rate. Training and development of designers, procedures, and practices.

Act as primary point of contact for all internal customer/supplier meetings where engineering information/guidance is required.

A member of the Managers Team, defining the key initiatives for day-to-day business process, continuous improvement, and meeting the overall business goals. As such, help set the cultural tone as an example for all employees.

SKILLS /ABILITIES:

  • The ideal candidate will have a hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking is required and creativity desired.
  • A drive to understand what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how/what it affects.
  • Good interpersonal skills, team player, self-motivated, good work ethic, enjoys challenges
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to train, develop, and motivate others
