Machinist A and B – Day Shift

Guthrie Oklahoma | Reports to: Department Supervisor

Requirements

A: Typically 5 years plus, of setup and machining in a low volume fabrication / machining environment, including CNC and manual equipment. Work using detailed production drawings. Be able to trouble shoot / problem solve machining problems and work with minimal supervision to resolve design issues to support quality, schedules and production times. Must pass the AQ Mach A Test.

B: 1 year or more manufacturing experience; technology diploma or equivalent preferred. Must pass the AQ Mach B Test.

 

Accountability

To machine detail components or assemblies in a manner that supports quality, safety, efficiencies to maintain standard times and on time delivery. Work in a manner that is consistent with quality production; ensuring quality work before the product leaves is your responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to setup and operate machine shop equipment to manufacture parts.
  • Reports non-conformances to Supervisor / Quality Assurance.
  • Must keep work area neat, clean and organized to support a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Must adhere to all OSHA, equipment safety rules and plant safety polices.
  • Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues w/ machinery to Supervisor.
  • Must check / audit all work performed to ensure quality.
  • Must meet required production schedules.
  • Must update the company computer with time, inventory and operational data.
  • Must be able to positively interact with coworkers and cross train other machinist in mastered areas to support results that exceeds our customers expectations.
  • Producing product with a quality mind-set. Verifying quality in production, part selection and correction of errors before product moves from your workstation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Technical Skills

  • All types of machining @ Autoquip
  • Setup and operate manual and CNC Machine shop equipment
  • Perform Lay Outs
  • Calibrated measuring equipment use
  • Select Inserts, Calculate Speeds, feeds, depths of cuts and tapers for machining
  • Basic Computer Skills

Functional Skills

  • Organization Skills
  • Grinding & Deburing
  • Pulling, Pushing, Lifting up to 50#
  • Working at floor, table and structural overhead levels
  • Stand / Walk Constantly
  • Crane Operation / Material Handling
  • Work Ethic & Team work skills
  • Read and understand blue prints, shop packets and shop schedules
