Production Control

Guthrie Oklahoma | Reports to: Materials Planning Supervisor

Business Contributions

The position of Production Control is responsible for effective planning of all the manufacturing resources that make our production run smoothly. This includes the involvement and managing of the business plans to drive Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP), inventories and production control. The position will drive and execute continuous on time deliveries by maximizing resources and planning effective inventories.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage Stock MRP – Daily suggestion & Job releases (maintain 2-day order release to purchasing / production)
  • Schedule adherence, work center / resources and or shipping schedule
  • Update production standards and challenge opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Documentation and configuration control on the production floor (coordinate DV process through the shop)
  • Production status reporting / production meetings (shipping report charts / and resource on-time charts)
  • Provide sales inquiry status of orders as required
  • Dispatch report usability and adherence
  • Scheduling to optimize utilization and production efficiencies, reducing in-direct times
  • Expedite shortages with Purchasing to support planning
  • Maintain shop order / lot size integrity and completion and quantities
  • Work with the supervisors to ensure order status is up to date (operations & quantities)
  • Cycle count and inventory control
  • Follow Make vs. Buy rules

Education & Experience

3 – 5 years of manufacturing knowledge / experience in a MPS – MRP integrated system environment. An APICS graduate, or a related business management degree.
